Food for Thought: Ms. Nicholas

We appreciate Ms. Nicholas meeting us to do this interview with Equal Opportunities for Students. It is important to get an educator’s perspective on educational policy issues, and articulated her concerns very will in her Food for Thought interview.

You can find her interview here.

She is not only a special education teacher, but she is also a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association, so she was able to give us a very unique perspective on issues in education today. It’s important to make sure we have state standards and a curriculum that is representative of all students, including students of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, and students with disabilities. Many kinds of diversity are present in the classroom, and it is important to make sure we represent that in the way we portray information in our classrooms. How would you make the classroom experience more diverse.
