More about Dylan:

Dylan (they/them) is an undergraduate student at SUNY New Paltz and originally from Long Island. They experience disability and ableism through their mental and physical health. Dylan values disability justice because it builds solidarity among disabled people pursuing a more accessible world, while understanding the complex ways disabled people are positioned to rectify injustices through the same institutions that have done harm. Dylan appreciates the opportunity for connectedness and relief that the Heumann-Armstrong Award provides by rendering injustices in education visible, as experiencing ableism can be isolating and disempowering.
