RJ Justice, a student at the University of Denver, is a winner of the 2023 Heumann-Armstrong Award.

More about RJ:

RJ Justice (they/she) is a second year at the University of Denver majoring in International Studies. They are Autistic and also have Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Major Depression. She first began to immerse herself in her identity as a Disabled and Autistic person after working as a research intern with KFM Making a Difference, a non-profit dedicated to supporting Autistic students in higher education, in her first year in college. A bit later, RJ met a professor in school who introduced them to disability justice. From there, RJ researched and engaged in their communities and became a passionate advocate for universal accessibility and disability justice. Now, RJ is the social media chair for her school’s Neurodiversity Resource Group, a peer leader for incoming neurodivergent students at her university, and is in the midst of conducting research on Disabled peoples’ experiences at the University of Denver. They also run an Instagram account about their experience being Disabled @autisticallyrj.
