Tell Your Story: Terry

We appreciate Terry doing a second interview with Equal Opportunities for Students. This time, he was interviewed for the Tell Your Story series.

This is the interview.

Many schools often have a problem with providing accommodations to students with disabilities, as the school is either ill-equipped, or staff doesn’t know how to best service the student. Parents frequently go into 504 or IEP meetings, and feel like they haven’t been properly represented, and that what is best for their children won’t happen. How do you think the voices of parents and students can be better represented in the accommodation process? How can we better teach teachers and staff how to service children with disabilities? How can we get schools better prepared to help students with disabilities?
